Thanks to all the members of the planning committee.  I bet it's been a fun process.  Quick question:  For the Friday night "Meet and Greet", are we able to bring along a bottle of wine or something else to drink besides water?  If the answer is "yes" will there be ice provided?

Patti Ritter (Taves)

Sue,  No alcohol is allowed because it's the Village Civic Center.  You're welcome to bring anything in non-alcoholic, and we'll have ice available.   You'll be right around the corner from lots of bars/restaurants where folks can gather for drinks Friday night after the Meet & Greet.

Anyone else remember this bunch? I'm second on the left, and I see Cara...but most of the names are lost to me. This is our senior year, I'm fairly sure.

Thanks, reunion committee members for your labor of love in planning the events we'll enjoy this weekend. Safe travels to all class members who are traveling!  The last reunion I attended was in 1994, the 20th.That was a great time and I'm sure this upcoming one will be even better.  I don't have to travel far; I'm living near Halsted and 67th on Chicago's south side.  Grace and peace!

Dawn,  I think that's Connie Konrath front right, and she's coming to the reunion too.  Great picture, by the way.  Lots of smiles!

Okay, thanks Patty.  That makes sense.  Just didn't want to show up empty-handed.

Glen Ellyn Covenant Church Hi-League kicked off Homecoming Week tonight at Shannon's.  GECC had a great youth program with kids from numerous High Schools in the area (GE, GW, GS, WN, WC, etc).  Was great to get folks in town for the various HC's this weekend get together.

Dear Classmates:  I was so looking forward to seeing you at our 50th reunion weekend, but my arthritic spine has other plans for me. I haven't been able to move about or sit up today, so the 3+ hour drive to Glen Ellyn is out of the question. I'll be watching for photos, videos, and other updates on the Reunion website and Facebook.  Have a wonderful weekend and go Hitters!!

With you in spirit,

John Porter

What a fabulous, wonderful, fun weekend!  Thanks, again, to everyone on the committee who spent the last year planning our reunion; and thanks to all who re-connected, attended (in-person or thru messages), traveled from near and far, shared, laughed, cried and toasted along with us.  What an honor to be a small part of your lives!

Dear All,

It was somewhat of  shock to see everyone last Friday at the meet and greet. I have attended the Class of '73 events (I graduated a year early), so not having seen the folks from '74 in 50 years threw me a bit.  There are those of us who have not aged so gracefully and then there are people like Marc Cella whose only indicator of getting old seems to have been his hair going from jet black to shock white. It was nice to hear what my former classmates have been doing since graduation and reminisce about stories from Forest Glen Grade School along with some of the finer exploits that occurred at Glenbard West. Duane Street School was unrecognizable with all the changes - I recall band practice there in the 60s and when the PD was located there in the 70s?

I wish everyone the best in the coming years. Please take care.

Mary

How do we get copies of the Elementary Class photos taken?

Kurt, not to be flip but you have to ask someone who took some photos.  I can send you St. Pets, Main Street and Forest Glen.

Patti,

Can you send me the Forest Glen class photo, or lead me to someone who has it.

Thanks,

Kurt

Hello to all-

I was not able to attend the reunion so have enjoyed looking at the photos and reading messages.  Many thanks to Patti and all the committee members for your hard work and to those who have shared photos!  I recognize a few faces, and the group photo legend and yearbook photos helped me put names and faces together.  Memories from those years so long ago are surfacing....some good times!

To all - take care and may you be blessed.

Hi all. I was one of those unable to come to the events but enjoying the forum. Thanks so much for tracking me down, and for all the  photos and shared memories on this site. You all got so much better looking with age! Maybe by the next reunion I will too.

If you haven't before, you should come visit San Francisco sometime.

i came away with the realization that it was our formative years we were all at the "dump on the hump"!- as i used to hear from some and said a few times myself as it was kinda fun and maybe catchy. I think something about those formative years that binds us together. Very fun to reconnect with the many people who i had the chance to talk to. I wish i would have had the time to talk to more people and spend more time with many who i only was able spend a short time with. . Actually,  I thought glenbard west was a nice campus in a nice setting near lake ellyn and i liked the unique somewhat castle like building also. Take care until we meet again. Mark Rodgers Bemidji Mn 218-556-9908.=AND THANK YOU to all who worked to put the 50th reunion week together-much appreciated by many.
